The Ninth International Conference on Computational Structures Technology

The Ninth International Conference on Computational Structures Technology
2-5 September 2008, Athens, Greece
Conference website: http://www.civil-comp.com/conf/cst2008.htm

The conference is concerned with the application of the latest computational technology to structural mechanics and engineering. Computational Technology encompasses both the latest hardware and software developments as well as algorithmic and theoretical developments.

The conference is concerned with both theoretical, mathematical and scientific developments as well as applications of established technology to new domains. The word Structures is interpreted in its widest sense.

The conference runs concurrently with the Sixth International Conference on Engineering Computational Technology. Participants may attend sessions from either conference.

ISMA2008 - International Conference on Noise and Vibration Engineering

ISMA2008 International Conference on Noise and Vibration Engineering

September 15-17, 2008, Leuven, Belgium

Objectives

The 2008 Leuven Conference on Noise and Vibration Engineering will be held from September 15th till 17th in Leuven, Belgium. It is the 23rd international conference in a series of annual courses and biennial conferences on structural dynamics, modal analysis and noise and vibration engineering, organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.

The conference provides a forum for engineers, researchers and other professionals active in the field of modelling, analysing, testing and improving the noise and vibration characteristics of mechanical systems and civil structures. The conference combines expertise in the noise and vibration fields by stressing common measurement, modelling, analysis and control technologies. The meeting will provide a further impetus to the cross fertilisation of ideas in both areas

The aim of IALCCE'08 is to bring together all the very best work that has been done in the field of life-cycle civil engineering. The state of the art as well as emerging concepts and innovative applications related to life-cycle assessment, design, maintenance, rehabilitation and monitoring of civil engineering systems, will be considered. In this context, papers on theories, methods, algorithms, and applications are all welcome.

Specifically, the Symposium will focus on the following topics:

LIFE-CYCLE DAMAGING PROCESSES

  • Aging of Structures
  • Deterioration Modeling
  • Durable Materials
  • Earthquake and Accidental Loadings
  • Fatigue and Damage
  • Fire and High Temperatures
  • Marine and Severe Environments

EURODYN 2008 - 7th European Conference on Structural Dynamics

7 - 9 July 2008, Southampton University, Southampton, UK

http://www.isvr.soton.ac.uk/EURODYN2008/

The European Association for Structural Dynamics (EASD), is pleased to announce that the Seventh European Conference on Structural Dynamics EURODYN 2008 will be held at Southampton University, United Kingdom between 7-9 July 2008. The six previous conferences in the series were held in Bochum (1990), Trondheim (1993), Florence (1996), Prague (1999), Munich (2002) and Paris (2005).

This conference is devoted to theoretical, numerical and experimental developments in structural dynamics and their application to all types of structures and dynamical systems. The conference will reflect the state-of-the-art of structural dynamics and dynamical systems in science and engineering practice and is an opportunity to exchange scientific, technical and experimental ideas.

Projects MADUSE - Modelling Product Variability and Data Uncertainty in Structural Dynamics Engineering

MADUSE - Modelling Product Variability and Data Uncertainty in Structural Dynamics Engineering

Overall objectives

This project addresses methods for numerical simulation of dynamic behaviour of structures. Current industrial procedures for structural product analysis employ deterministic finite element models. But it is generally acknowledged that deterministic models are often oversimplified. Non-deterministic modelling procedures take into account aspects of uncertainty and variability. Scientific research in numerical methods in engineering has brought forward a number of very capable methods to model the effect of variability or uncertainties on technical characteristics of products.

Events USD2007 - 1st International Conference on Uncertainty in Structural Dynamics

USD2007 - 1st International Conference on Uncertainty in Structural Dynamics

11th - 13th June 2007 at The University of Sheffield, UK

Modern engineering relies increasingly on computer simulations and modelling for a wide range of processes in the design to decommissioning life cycle - from design and prototyping, through production planning, manufacture and in-service monitoring and ending with a safe decommission. This virtual approach usually offers clear financial and/or environmental advantages. However, a fundamental concern is that the modelling process must be robust to uncertainty.

This conference intends to address the whole range of issues relating to uncertainty in the specific field of structural dynamics and will range from questions of a fundamental nature through to applications.
